t h e V I S I O N .

The vision and prayer of The DC Awakening is to see God sovereignly pour out His Holy Spirit in our nation’s capital and stir the heart of His people toward passion and obedience to Christ. As God’s fire falls, our desire is that Christians will awaken from their apathy and indifference and begin to passionately follow Christ; ultimately experiencing spiritual revival and cultural reformation.

As we gather for an entire week on the west lawn of the Capitol in worship and prayer we will be asking for God to supernaturally birth strategy and vision for this emerging generation and inspire them to step into the purposes of God for this hour. It is essential that the Church “discern the times” to know what we are to do.

During this historic assembly we will be interceding for Christ to tear down spiritual strongholds across the nation and praying that, on the eve of our national elections, God will bring radical change to every aspect of our government. We are not gathering as republicans or democrats, as liberals or conservatives. We are gathering together as the people of God to humble ourselves before Him and desperately cry out for a national spiritual awakening.

Our vision for The DC Awakening is to see the Holy Spirit raise up and empower believers to step out of their fear and timidity and step into the purposes of God. This is the hour in which we must abandon the comfort and security of our safe Christian existence and unleash the kingdom of God into the public square.

Our hope is to launch and commission hundreds of “prophetic voices” into every aspect of culture and society with the power of the Holy Spirit and the historic teachings of the Church. We believe The DC Awakening will inspire many to be pastors, political leaders, lawyers, artists, educators, missionaries, worship leaders, film makers, authors, judges and marketplace leaders.

The DC Awakening is not just a week long religious meeting…

…it is a platform for launching a revolution.
